The Out O' the Blue Radio Revue is a program that defies musical categorization. It is "theatre of the mind", presenting a mixture of Purebred American Mongrel music for the mind's ear and eye: folk, blues, bluegrass, country, Cajun/zydeco, rock & roll, Irish, and whatever else "feels good". Formatted to blur and diminish accepted, expected musical and cultural labelizations, we offer a broad musical and emotional panorama of what Americans, in all their diversity, listen to and perform.
The setting is singer, songwriter, recording artist and host Page Wilson's "home in the Chickahominy Swamp". Scott Fraley is the Music Director. We feature one-of-a-kind live, and recorded-live, conversational and informational interview/performances from around the "kitchen table", and play CDs and albums in the "living room". Dozens of national, regional and local recording artists and groups have already "stopped by the house" to visit and perform.
This program is a musical tapestry for styles and artists under-represented on both non-commercial and commercial airwaves. There was no existing Purebred American Mongrel radio format, so we made it up. Diversity is the key to the concept. This is a music, knowledge, and unique entertainment, featuring performers whose talents and backgrounds the public needs to know; the distinctly American heritage of our differing cultures and varied musical influences all fitting together, as individuals with much in common.
The Out O' the Blue Radio Revue is also a whole lot of FUN!
